Both classrooms have working walls for English and Maths which aid the children with their work. There are also Topic boards which will proudly display work that the children have created.

Our Learning This Half Term

Our topic this half term is Superheroes. During this topic we will be learning about the qualities that superheroes have and real life superheroes. Through art we will be experimenting with pop art techniques use by Andy Warhol and looking at self portrait techniques used by Pablo Picasso. This will link to our English work where we will be exploring the story of Traction Man by Mini Grey and writing fiction stories.

This term in science we are looking at animals including humans. We will be learning about the different food groups, eating healthy and life cycles.

Our question for Religious Education this term is – Creation Stories

Memorable Experience

Last half term to complete our learning about the Great Fire of London the children chose to recreate the fire in the school playground. Throughout the week the children created tudor houses using cardboard and paper to resemble those from 1666. On the last day of term the children all watched their city burn and saw how quickly the fire spread.

Each class has two Dojo Masters. Their job is to make sure everyone is following the Firsy values; Fascinated, Independent, Respectful, Sociable and having a You can do it attitude. They also get the opportunity to greet visitors who come to visit the class.
