Events

At Firs Estate we like to engage the wider community by holding different events throughout the school year. Some of the events we hold help raise money for the school, which enables us to buy more resources for the children that otherwise we could not afford. The resources range from every day classroom resources, subject specific resources or resources that can used outside on the playground at playtime and lunchtime. Other events are opportunities for children to celebrate their work or different festivals with the community.

In the academic year 2016/17 we have:

  • Been to St Luke’s Church for Harvest, Christmas and Easter. After the Harvest festival parents were invited back to the school to join in activities with their children in the classroom
  • Held a Halloween disco which helped raise money for the school and both parents and children took part in a fancy dress competition
  • Held after school jumble sales which have been a huge success
  • Held a Easter bonnet parade for the EYFS children to show their bonnets they have made in class
  • Performed Christmas songs to the whole school and parents
  • Participated in a KS1 and KS2 Sports Day

We also hold events within school that can help raise money for different charities or to help celebrate different educational days.

In this academic year we have:

  • Dressed up as our favourite book character for ‘World Book Day’~
  • Wore our own clothes to raise money for ‘Children in Need’
  • Wore our own clothes to raise money for ‘Comic Relief’

We also collected ‘Sainsbury’s Active Kids’ vouchers which will be used to buy sports equipment!
