Drugs Education

The National Curriculum includes Drugs Education in the Science Curriculum and in the Health Education cross-curricular themes.

At Key Stage 1:

5 to 7 year olds learn about the role of drugs as medicines.

At Key Stage 2:

7 to 11 year olds learn that tobacco, alcohol and other drugs can have harmful effects. They learn strategies for resisting peer pressure which they will encounter as they grow older.
